First and foremost, we would like to thank you for your interest in being a part of the DC MIST 2024 Tournament! As you may be aware, volunteers and security personnel play a significant and instrumental role each year at our regional tournament and we are truly grateful to each one of them.

All individuals who are interested in volunteering or becoming in being a security personnel MUST fill out this form in its entirety. NO new volunteers or security personnel will be permitted during MIST weekend at any point; NO EXCEPTIONS. After submitting the form, we will review your application and contact you in a timely manner regarding following steps, if applicable.

Role Descriptions:

Security Personnel:18+

Your tasks are comprised of, but not limited to

  • Keeping the hallways clear, making sure competitors are either in a workshop or competition.

  • Making sure the competitors are maintaining Islamic adab and akhlaq.

  • Walking the grounds, making sure we have a safe environment.

  • Effectively ushering competitors to various workshops and competitions


Volunteer:18+

Your tasks are comprised of, but not limited to

  • Moderate programs and workshops.

  • Assist organizer with various tasks.

  • Help security personnel and organizers with crowd control.

  • Door guard: Do not let anyone in or out of the room while a performance is taking place.

  • Waiting room: Keep room under control and usher the competitor to the judging room once they are called upon.

  • Timekeeper: Let the judges know when the competitor has gone over the set time.
